A Skill Gap pass, three cohort-mate reviews, and a calmer Mentor Review later — Amani opened a DAAD offer email at 6am.
The starting line
Amani finished her BSc in microbiology in Lagos with a strong GPA and zero idea how to translate that into a funded MSc abroad. She''d opened DAAD''s page three times and closed it three times.
What changed
She joined the DAAD Scholarship Cohort in March. Week one was the Skill Gap Analyzer against her target programs — it told her, bluntly, that her research statement needed a sharper question and her CV was burying her wet-lab experience.
Week two she shipped a first draft of the Motivation Letter in-platform and the cohort tore it apart kindly. Week three she ran it past a Mentor Review from a current DAAD scholar in Munich.
The offer
She submitted three days before the deadline. Eight weeks later: full funding, TUM, microbiology. Total time investment: ~6 hours a week for 10 weeks.
> "The cohort made the difference. I would have missed the deadline alone." — Amani
